What Material Should I Use?
Steel

Our Bunded Fuel Tanks are manufactured from steel or high grade polyethylene. Each has its own merits and applications. Steel tanks are designed to withstand the harshest conditions, can be placed on rough and uneven surface without a concrete base, are sturdier, and are more secure from vandalism and theft on more open sites. Steel is also the preferred material for UN rating required for transportation of fuel on the highways.
Polyethylene
- Polyethylene tanks are low cost, require no maintenance, are corrosion free, UV stabilised and of a robust construction.
Galvanised steel
- Hot dipped galvanised as standard, giving our bunded tanks up to 50 years protection against rust. All outlets are mounted on top of the tank above the fuel level to prevent fuel leakage.
